It is recommended to have a professional check-up and cleaning at least twice a year. Dental cleanings can eliminate dental plaque and tiny quantities of tooth decay that a regular toothbrush can’t reach.
Oral Cancer Screening
Oral cancer screenings are a standard part of our oral exams at Edgemont Dental. It’s a painless and quick examination of your gums, tongue, as well as other soft tissues in your mouth to see if there are any abnormalities. Oral cancer can be detected early, which increases the likelihood of successful treatment. Patients who are not using tobacco products should get an oral cancer screening at least once every year, whereas those who smoke using other tobacco products must have at least two yearly screenings.
