Dental Care
Without the Fear

Sedation dentistry makes dental treatment comfortable and manageable for anxious patients — from mild relaxation to deeper calm for longer procedures.

Sedation Dentistry

No Patient Should
Fear the Dentist

Dental anxiety affects millions of people and is the leading reason people delay or avoid necessary dental care. Left untreated, this leads to more complex, costly, and uncomfortable procedures down the line. Sedation dentistry breaks that cycle — allowing us to provide comfortable, effective treatment regardless of anxiety level. From a mild sense of calm to a deeper, procedure-friendly sedation, we match the sedation level to your needs.

Sedation Options

Two Levels of
Comfort Care

Nitrous Oxide (Mild)

Inhaled through a small nasal mask. Produces a pleasant, floating sensation within minutes. Completely reversible — wears off in minutes so you can drive yourself home. Safe for children and adults.

Oral Sedation (Moderate)

A prescribed pill (typically a benzodiazepine) taken 30–60 minutes before your appointment. You remain conscious and responsive but deeply relaxed, often with no memory of the procedure. A companion must drive you home.

Get More Done

Sedation allows us to complete multiple procedures in one session — fewer appointments, faster treatment.

No Memory

Oral sedation often produces anterograde amnesia — most patients have little to no recollection of the procedure.

Fully Monitored

Our team monitors your vital signs throughout every sedation procedure — your safety is our first priority.

Children Too

Nitrous oxide is safe and effective for anxious children, making otherwise impossible appointments manageable.

The Process

Your Sedation Visit
Step by Step

01

Medical History Review

We assess your health, medications, and anxiety level to choose the right sedation option.

02

Pre-Appointment Instructions

Fasting requirements, companion arrangements, and what to wear are confirmed in advance.

03

Sedation Administration

Sedation is given and we wait until you're completely comfortable before beginning any treatment.

04

Recovery

We monitor you until you're alert. For oral sedation, a companion takes you home to rest.

FAQ

Common Questions

Is sedation safe?

Yes. All sedation is administered under close supervision with continuous monitoring of oxygen levels, heart rate, and blood pressure. We review your full medical history before recommending any sedation.

Will I be unconscious?

No. Nitrous oxide and oral sedation — the options we offer — both leave you conscious and able to respond, just deeply relaxed. General anaesthesia (full unconsciousness) is not offered in our office.

How far in advance do I need to arrange sedation?

Oral sedation requires a prescription, so we typically arrange it at a consultation visit 1–2 weeks before your procedure. Nitrous oxide can often be arranged same-day.
